Oma and her companion Gigett...

As many of you know, my grandmother has a WONDERFUL caregiver Marilyn. She used to be a cargiver for another person who adopted this dog Gigett. Not sure if I'm spelling her name right. Anyways, when that person passed, Marilyn became her owner. Now Gigett has the role of being Oma's companion and she is just as precious as can be. Very protective. She does not like the girls however. Marilyn thinks that she was hurt by children by the way she acts. She is most afraid of Lauren!!! - And Taylor can't get enough of her. She is starting to warm up with Taylor. It's interesting because my grandmother has NEVER had an anmial in her home and she just loves this dog. Gigett is on her lap at all times. It's just fun to watch the 2 of them together!!!

Christmas at home...

So even though Lauren is part of our family now - this was probably the one and only Christmas day she will not be a part of. Sound asleep as a baby should be!!! - But Tay had a blast. Not sure how much she really believed in Santa this year. I think she believed for me!!! - LOTS of questions and was hesitant about sending her letter. I think this was it. But she was a trooper and set out cookies/milk, and a carrot for Rudolph!!! :) - There was one gift Santa couldn't get to us and sent in via Fed Ex...Thank goodness they were open Christmas day for a few hours. That darn Mario Cart for the Wii didn't make it in his sleigh on time!!! -

Setting out the cookies, milk and carrots..

Her stocking was overflowing with fun little gifts...

Santa left a letter for Tay - for her to give Lauren this gift card since she was too small for toys this year!!!

Christmas at Oma's 2008

I know that I'm behind on my blogs....but to my defense between Dec 21-Jan 13 we have 4 birthdays in our family, Christmas and New Years...it's a busy time of year!!! - Also as I write this blog I'm somewhat sad. Because reality tells me that this was probably the last year with our Oma. However, our family was blessed with a wonderful evening. And although Oma is not in the best of health she just enjoys us all being around. The loud noise and kaos din't even see to bother her. It will be a Christmas Eve to remember.
